Whether it be toxic, radioactive, corrosive, or diagnostic specimens; hazardous materials/Dangerous Goods (DG) are moved around the world using various modes of transport. Each mode of transport is covered by stringent regulations to ensure that dangerous goods and hazardous materials are shipped safely and securely, such that the risk to people, property and the environment is minimised.
Biocair have extensive experience of the classification, packaging, labelling, handling and declaration of dangerous goods, to the extent that we take the responsibility of shipper for dangerous goods shipments. Biocair will ensure compliance with the regulations of the applicable modes of transport.
There are a total of nine UN hazard classes and 3 UN packing groups. The hazard class relates to type of hazard and the packing group relates to the danger of the hazardous materials.
Biocair have an on-site DGSA (Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor) and Radac Safety Advisor.
Biocair’s responsibility as shippers means that we will identify dangerous goods, determine which of the nine hazard classes they fall under and assign to the relevant packing group.
